SSI Instruction With Aqua Divers

Training for all interest levels

We believe, that the SSI instructional guidelines and instructional programs developed by SSI are the best in the business. The training staff at Aqua Divers is proud to teach you the safe, considerate, fun way. Aqua Divers Instructors teach the academics of diving by using SSI's Total Teaching System, which includes manuals, study guides, videos, teaching outlines and other support material.

Aqua Divers Training Facility provides all levels of training, from your very first snorkeling experience all the way through Dive Control Specialist.  Our training system, LEARNING THROUGH REPETITION has proved to be a highly effective teaching method. The SSI Total Teaching System results in a high level of confidence in overall diving ability, which allows you to focus on why you wanted to learn to dive - to have a great time diving!

What every diver should know...

Proper Equipment

The most comfortable, convenient and enjoyable way to dive is with your own set of properly fitted equipment. You’re comfort and skill level will increase substantially. Servicing your equipment annually improves your equipment's performance, and minimizes malfunctions, which provides peace of mind.

Proper Knowledge

There are certain safety rules that must be learned. With a professional teaching system (a manual, video, and study guide) you can study this information on your own. An instructor will be available for assistance.

Proper Skills

You must develop ability with basic scuba skills, such as moving in the water and equipment handling. The best way to learn is from a qualified instructor at a professional scuba school. Review and practice time reinforces the skills.

Experience

While education helps develop knowledge and skills, the key to becoming a comfortable and confident diver is simply to dive as much as possible. Your experience increases as you explore different diving locations, meet new friends, have new adventures, and explore new worlds.

That's why SSI's motto is:

SERIOUS DIVING...SERIOUS FUN

Course Description:

Open water dives are done in Monterey (recommended) or local lakes in the summer season. It is also possible to do your trainging dives in a dry suit suit instead of wetsuits. Ask for more details on this option. All equipment used in the training program must have current CIP, BCP, hydro and VIP.  During the open water class, the scuba system is included in the price of the class but personal equipment items are not. It is recommended, that students acquire their own equipment during the open water class, especially if further education is in the future.  This allows the student to become more comfortable in the water and allows familiarity with equipment while under instructional training, which promotes safety. It is generally recommended that the diver continue his/her education with specialties courses; furthering the diving abilities and improves your diving comfort.
