| | AQUA DIVERS AQUARIUS DIVE CLUB NEWSLETTER | | | JUNE 2009 | | | NEWS FROM THE JUNE MEETING: |
| A report was given on the Memorial Day weekend at the Albion River campground. The wind blew all weekend long so there wasn’t much diving going on. It was a great weekend to sit around the campfire, having engaging conversation, take naps and eat good food. The weekend of June 13 & 14 was cancelled due to the weather and everyone being busy with other elements in their lives. |
| | DIVE EVENTS: |
| The next scheduled event is July 12 – Customer Appreciation Day. It will begin at 2:00pm and will be held at Aqua Divers pool. Aqua Divers will supply hot dogs, hamburgers, buns and condiments. We will supply the ice and drink cups. Please bring a small side dish for the potluck and whatever beverage you desire to consume. The entire family is invited, so bring you wife and kids if you are the only one certified in the family. This is to be a fun day for everyone. Bring your swimming suit and towel. If you want to breath hold dive or scuba dive, bring your gear. Tanks will be supplied, but not the weights. Weights have been disappearing during our events lately and; therefore, you have to supply your own or check weights out and back in with Joyce. There will be scuba skills updates if you or someone you know want to get back in the water and go through some skills. There will be drawings for “dive club membership” and “ continued educational dives” (for new club members only). |
| MONTHLY PRESENTATION: |
| The May presentation was given by Steven on Bouyancy control. I think it brought to light some ideas of being able to control your buoyancy in different manners. Hopefully some of you will try this technique of being horizontal and see if it makes a difference to you. It is a very important skill to master. |
