|  | AQUA DIVERS AQUARIUS DIVE CLUB NEWSLETTER | | | JUNE 2008 | | | | NEWS FRON THE JUNE MEETING | | | A thank you to Sarah, Keith, Clyde, Tim, and Mike for helping us set up and for staying around all day long to help us with the annual Flea Market/Sale on May 17th. Thank you to Keith for bringing the donuts for breakfast. And thank you to Carl for coming in on Friday and helping me roll everything out of the back to get ready for Saturday morning. It was a great day and we sold a lot of product. | | | | DIVE WEEKEND | | | A group of us went to Albion River Campground over the Memorial Day weekend. We went Abalone diving as well as scuba diving. The weather was gorgeous. And of course we had a big Abalone/fish feed on Saturday night. We went to Albion again on June 14 & 15 which was a dive club weekend. We had another great weekend. The wind was a big cooler and the water was rougher, but they got their abs and some great tasting fish. We all had a great time. | | | | CLUB NEWS | | | Dues are due at this time, so if you haven’t come in to pay for the next year please do so in order to keep receiving the newsletter and to participate in the upcoming dives. | | | | CUSTOMER APPRECIATION DAY | | | We are going to have a STUDENT APPRECIATION day on July 13th starting at 2:00pm. All dive club members are invited to come to the pool that Sunday afternoon and mingle with the open water students. We will be conducting short scuba skills updates for those students that have not been in the water for awhile. We are trying to bring those certified divers into the dive club. The pool will be open so bring your bathing suit. We will have hot dogs, hamburgers and condiments and if you would please bring a small side dish for the potluck dinner. If you want some other kind of meat, please bring it to put on the barbeque. Bring your own beverages, but I will have ice. There will be postcards sent out to remind you of this date. | | | | CHANNEL ISLANDS TRIP | | | | Our side of the PEACE boat is full and we have been given the opportunity to put people on the other side of the boat. So, if you are interested in going but just haven’t taken that plunge, now is the time to do it. The dates are July 27,28,29. | | | | WASHINGTON STATE DIVE TRIP | | | | We talked about the trip to Washington state to dive the Edmonds underwater park. No date could be decided. So, we will be choosing a date that we can get away from the shop and put it on the calendar and hope that we have some interest in going that direction. | | | | NEXT DIVE CLUB MEETING | | | July 9, 2008 |
