NEWS FROM THE MAY MEETING

The Abalone dive weekend in April was great.  The ocean was flat and the visibility was at least 35 ft.  We went out Saturday morning and anchored in 30 ft. of water and you could see the bottom.  Steven, Sarah & Leroy came back in with their limits.  Leroy, Steven and myself went out for a scuba dive and we brought back some fish for dinner as well.  We had a great dinner of Abalone, fresh fried fish, that Steven made, clam chowder and peach cobbler that Clyde made.  The rest of us filled in the other spaces with salads and bread.  Gil, Floyd, and Steven went out on Sunday for an Abalone dive and a short while after they got back in the fog rolled in and we couldn’t go back out.  The weather was great and very few campers in the campground.

We will work on the Yukon trip to San Diego and the Washington trip and hopefully set some dates by the June meeting.

We asked for volunteers to help us set up the tents for the annual Flea Mkt.  on Saturday the 17th of May.  We had several  volunteers so we should have a good day.

We also asked for volunteers to help take the dome down for the summer months.  We had several volunteers for that as well.

UPCOMING DIVES

A group of us are planning to dive at Albion over the Memorial day weekend.  If anyone is interested come along and join us.  Be sure to call over for reservations.  That will be May 23 – 26.
